Nissan Motors officially launched its much awaited sedan car model, the Nissan Versa in USA. The car is expected to be named Nissan Sunny in India and has been spotted on the roads for testing many a times. Nissan Motors will launch this car in a large number of countries and for this reason it is being touted as a Global Sedan by the company. Nissan Motors has launched the car at a starting price of US $ 10,990, which surprisingly is equal to INR 5,05,540 (according to the current exchange rates).

The car weighs 160 pound less than its earlier version and is named Nissan Versa there. The car carries a 1.6 L, four cylinder, VVTi (Variable Valve Timing) engine. The engine produces a maximum torque of 107 nm and a maximum power of 109 bhp. The engine is connected to 5 speed manual transmission or Xtronic CVT Transmission. According to the American test conditions, the car gave mileage of 10.2 kilometers per litre in city and 13.4 kilometers per litre on the highways. Nissan Versa packs a number of goodies also, including Bluetooth mobile phone integration, navigation system, USB interface, 60/40 fold split-down rear seats and XM Satellite Radio. It is quite obvious that the Indian model will look different from the US variant. Nissan is yet to decide a name for the car in India (it can be Almera or Sunny, but most likely it would be Sunny only) and also the price of the car.
