Nissan Sunny Diesel launched at Rs 7.98 lakh

Nissan India has surprised the Indian car freaks by announcing the launch of its much awaited diesel version of Nissan Sunny on Monday. The Nissan Sunny Diesel carries 1.5 liter powertrain with 5 speed gearbox but has the stunning K9K update that claims it to be the first installation anywhere in the world, as far as Nissan Sunny is concerned.

The diesel Sunny has been offered in two variants viz., XL and XV. The base variant, Nissan Sunny Diesel XL, is priced at Rs 7.98 lakh while the top-end Nissan Sunny Diesel XV variant’s price badge reads Rs 8.78 lakh. The new entrant in the diesel car segment is offered in six eye-catching colors including Blade Silver, Bronze Grey, Sapphire Blue, Brick Red, Onyx Black and Storm White.

Nissan Sunny Diesel Features

Developed under the collaboration of Nissan and Renault, the K9K diesel motor promises wonderful mileage of 21.64 kmpl; the fuel efficiency figures are reveled by ARAI. The 1.5 liter engine of the diesel Sunny develops maximum power of 86 PS at 3750 rpm and lays out top torque of 200 Nm at 2000 rpm with the help of 5 speed manual gearbox.

The diesel version of the Sunny has got the same Nissan’s pre-eminent V platform which powers the Nissan Micra. And it gains the benefits of the V platform in terms of overall strength, light weight and superb riding characteristics.

Speaking on the launch event, MD and CEO, Nissan Motor, Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama stated that it was the right time to launch the diesel Sunny as customers were looking for high performer and fuel saving sedans and the Sunny diesel meets all the requirements. Nissan’s Marketing and Sales partner firm’s VC and MD Mr GM Singh informed the media that the company could sold over 3000 units of Nissan Sunny petrol in India and expected to increase the sale of the car.

As far as the features of the car are concerned, the Sunny Diesel has been Incorporated with significant safety features such as Anti Lock braking system, Brake Assist, electronic brake force distribution, driver and front passenger airbags, engine immobilizer, front fog lamps, intelligent key with push button ignition and speeding sensing auto door lock.

Besides these safety features, the car has got other decent features as well that includes body color bumpers and door mirrors, rear defroster, electrically adjustable ORVM, integrated audio system, adjustable front and rear headrests, electric power and tilt steering, auto AC with filter, audio controls mounted on steering wheel, remote keyless entry and boot opener, front and rear power windows, electric folding outside mirror, B pillar slash black out, alloy wheels, chrome plated inside door handles, outside temperature display, fine vision meters, door trim fabric, front and rear door armrest finish and interior greige color scheme.
