BMW i8 launching on February 18, 2015: A Glimpse
BMW i8 the hybrid sports car from German luxurious car maker BMW is all set to mark its rashes at Indian roads on February 18, 2015. It is reported that the first consignment of cars has been dispatched for Indian car market and is soon expected to touch the Indian shores. The plug-in hybrid sports car is expected to be offered in petrol trim which would be empowered with 1.5 litre, 3 cylinder twin turbocharging petrol engine incorporated with electric motor.
The 1.5 litre petrol engine boosts the power of 231 bhp and torque 320 Nm. The electronic motor on the other side generates the power of 131 PS and torque of 250Nm. Both the motors together generate the power of 362 PS and torque of 570Nm. The engine would be mated with six speed automatic transmission system. The total weight of this sports car is around 1490 Kgs and with top speed of 250 kmph it is capable to accelerate the speed from standstill to 100 kmph within the span of 4.5 seconds. Slated for launch of February 18, 2015, the hybrid sports car in Indian car market would be brought through completely built in route (CBU) and is speculated to be priced around Rs. 2 Crore.
