BMW Mini Cooper Countryman Crossover launch slated for Jan 5, spy pics loom large
The stage for the new cars in India is already set, it seems. Recently, a BMW Mini Cooper Countryman S was reportedly seen at one of the dealerships in the country capital even before its official launch at the Auto Expo 2012. On the other hand, auto experts expect the best of the offerings for India this season and BMW cars will have an important contribution to it. BMW Mini marquee and the BMW Mini cars will be launched in India on January 5 at the Auto Expo. Other cars under this marquee include BMW Mini Cooper One, BMW Mini Cooper, BMW Mini Cooper S, BMW Mini Cooper Cabrio and BMW Mini Cooper Coupe.

The BMW Mini Cooper Countryman S is the latest addition to the chart of BMW Mini series. The crossover car BMW Mini Cooper Countryman following its high ground clearance and sturdy nature is also studded with off roading genes. This five door BMW car can house five people comfortably and is far more spacious that its marquee siblings.

With an option of four wheels driven car, the BMW Mini Cooper Countryman can be comfortably called as a new off roader for India. The engine in this BMW Mini car too does its best and is of 184 bhp with a peak torque of 260 Nm at 1600rpm which is considerably a great torque at such low rpm. Indian version of the BMW Mini Cooper Countryman may have automatic transmission only. With such feature and commensurate pricing, BMW could place the BMW Mini Cooper Countryman between BMW X1 and BMW X3.
Once in India BMW Mini Cooper series cars are expected to do well as these did in other countries. However, BMW Mini price in India will be a deciding factor as this will alone be driving customers to BMW showrooms after its launch.
