BMW Mini Cooper to be available by 2012 in India at Rs 25 Lakhs onwards

The German luxury giant BMW gets ready to launch the awaited range of vehicles from the house of Mini marquee in India. As per BMW, the Mini will be unveiled next year in 2012 and expected price tag will read above INR 25 Lakhs. Mini is basically a Britain based automotive brand which is dedicated to manufacture small car and is now acquired by BMW.

The Mini range complies of many models such as Cooper coupe, Cooper hatchback and Cooper convertible, Countryman, and Clubman. It is expected that BMW will launch its entire model range in India.

Mr. Andreas Schaff; the President of BMW India, informed that Mini is an iconic brand which has got some sort of flourishing history and legacy in the past. He didn’t confirm the price but said that at least above INR 25 Lakhs can be estimated as it being an iconic brand’s premium car.

According to him, BMW will not share its showrooms for the retail and display as the company eyes and will market Mini as a separate brand; hence it will have its own standalone display area.

The company has planned to commence its India operations with the opening of three showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi. And till 2013-2014 the luxury marquee will have 12 dealerships across the country catering the premium class of consumers.

He said due to some reasons the launch which was expected way back in 2009 was abandon for some reasons, but this time the firm is geared up for the debut. A team of skilled individuals at BMW is working upon the model which will be introduced in India initially, as the will import Completely Built Units (CBU).
