Cars and bikes using Apple Map app navigate to strange places in Australia
If you are using Apple Maps on the iPhone5 connected to your Ford Fiesta or the all new Hyundai Sonata, Beware! It could lead to a destination different from where you were heading for. The recent incidents in Australia suggest so. As per several reports and forum posts people have literally struggled for existence after being put on a wrong path due to Apple Maps. Some even have to remain without food and mobile connectivity in Murray Sunset National Park. Even worse than that, the Australian police themselves checked for anomalies and found that the app could lead astray.

As per Dailymail the entire series of incidents as well as the anomaly between the exact route and the one shown on Apple Maps has been reported to Apple. In the meantime, the authorities have warned travelers not to use the app as a guide to their destination as it has several anomalies and it could lead anyone to a place different from what is intended. Meanwhile, Apple Chief Tim Cook has issued apologies on the issue and has suggested the Apple iPhone users to download alternate apps such as Bing, Google Maps etc.

These days navigation with the help of handheld devices is on the rise and most of the car brands have installed iPhone connectivity in their cars. Almost all modern day cars including Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Ford, Hyundai etc to total of over 30 car brands and over 300 cars come with iPhone connectivity. Almost all new car launches these days vociferously propound iPhone connectivity as a prominent feature. The iPhone Maps app shows the route and is a great tool in navigating to the destination but this serious anomaly has literally tarnished the image. In India though, there is limited use of this technology and but once it will be used extensively there are serious issues that could come up as routes change shape overnight.
