Chevrolet Cruze diesel launch soon
The American car maker General Motors will soon be giving a fresh impetus to the Chevrolet Cruze sedan in the United States with the launch of the diesel model. Currently the 138 hp, 1.4 l petrol engine powers the Cruze sedan as gas engines are more popular in the country compared to diesel powered cars. The Chevrolet Cruze petrol returns a highway mileage of 42 MPG in US. The Chevrolet Cruze in India is available in diesel only option as diesel cars are more popular due to the low price of diesel fuel. The Chevrolet Cruze price in India starts at Rs 14.22 lakh.

In the US, the American car maker will be putting up an extra work in introducing the Cruze diesel and it will take time before the diesel Cruze will settle there. This is because of the priority given to gasoline powered cars in US. The diesel fuel in US is considered dirty and polluting. However, with the Cruze diesel, US people will be able to change their opinion about diesel as the technology has improved and diesel cars are as powerful and high on mileage as any other petrol car.

The Chevrolet Cruze diesel will be powered by a 2 L Z Series engine that will have a maximum power output of 163 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque. The new Z Series engine developed by Chevrolet will be low on maintenance as well and has been designed to offer performance and mileage. The engine delivers power at relatively lowered rpms that means that the car engine will have a longer life and it will be responsive even at low speeds. The Chevrolet Cruze diesel will have an acceleration of 8.5 seconds and it will be available in a six speed manual or automatic transmission option.
