Chevrolet Sail hatch launching this July followed by Chevrolet Enjoy MPV this Diwali

General Motors India will be launching Chevrolet Sail hatchback car in July followed by its Enjoy MPV this Diwali. These two are reported revelations from Chevrolet recently. Notably, the two cars, Chevrolet Sail and Chevrolet Enjoy MPV were already unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo. The Chevrolet Sail hatchback price is expected to be Rs 5.5 lakh and will be entering the segment dominated by Maruti Swift, Nissan Micra and Ford Figo. The Enjoy MPV on the other hand will be competing with the likes of Mahindra Xylo, Toyota Innova besides others in the MPV car segment in India.   

Where the Chevrolet Sail hatchback will be putting up a new car in the already stiff segment the MPV Enjoy by Chevrolet will easily fit in the segment that has currently not too many players in it. The Sail hatchback is also expected to have its sedan sibling also in the making for India. The sedan, as per sources will be launched in India sooner than the two. The Chevrolet Sail hatchback will be placed above the Chevrolet Beat car. The company believes that the new hatchback will rewrite history created by Chevrolet Beat Diesel in India.  

The sedan Chevrolet Sail however will be competing with Maruti Swift Dzire besides others. The Sail sedan will be available in petrol and diesel variants and will be replacing Chevrolet Aveo that is said to have suffered a lot due to the absence of a diesel motor under hood. The Sail hatchback as well as the Sail sedan will have a 1.3L diesel engine. Since it is a Chinese car, the Indian auto industry has not so high hopes regarding the quality of materials used in these cars. However, it is certain that the Indian buyer will not prefer a Chinese make over popular hatchbacks in India such as Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo or Hyundai i20.
