Chevrolet Sail sedan launch around the corner, GM India website confirms

Guess who decided to show up on General Motors India’s website? Well, it none other than, the much anticipated Chevrolet car in the New Year, Chevrolet Sail Sedan. Sail sedan will be the first launch for GM India in 2013, which would be followed by MPV, Chevrolet Enjoy. Enjoy will get a neck to neck competition from the very dominating Toyota Innova and bold Mahindra Xylo. The car maker has launched the hatchback version of the Sail a few months back in the country. The Sail sedan is expected to be offered in the price range of Rs 6 to 7 lakh; this price range will able it to compete with the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, upcoming Honda Amaze and Tata Manza.

As per the GM India website, Sail Sedan will be launched in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will be installed with 1.2 litre SMARTECH engine capable of producing 86PS peak power output along with 113Nm torque. Just like other Chevrolet cars, this one will also be mated with standard five-speed manual transmission.

What will be interesting here is the diesel variant of Chevrolet Sail sedan. This car variant will be blessed with very fuel-efficient 1.3 litre turbo diesel engine that has the ability to churn out 77BHP power along with 210Nm of torque. This diesel engine will also be coupled with the same five-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, to enhance the performance of the car on Indian roads, the company has done quite a bit here. The smooth steering wheel, superior suspension along with responsive braking system will together help the car performance rise high on the graph.

Besides the high class technical part, Chevrolet Sail Sedan will also lure the consumer through its headturner looks. The dynamic exteriors united with Corvette Inspired Dual-cockpit on the inside with very fresh and lovely interiors make the car complete in its own way. What is more special in the sedan is the high-class legroom and headroom with ample of boot space that would make long road trips very amusing and relaxing.With all this and more, all General Motors India has to take care is of its price.
