New camouflaged Chevrolet Sail spied in China
The new camouflaged Chevrolet sedan Sail has been spied being tested on Chinese roads. Industry experts believe that car will go for sale in Chine by the end of this year. The new Chevrolet Sail has been developed in joint collaboration of General Motors and SAIC, its partner in China. It is reported that Chevrolet is working on introducing a new entry level sedan in market which will be placed under Sail. It is expected that the new version of Sail will be more dynamic and aggressive as compared to existing model of Sail.
Talking about the changes that have been spied in new Sail include enlarged door at rear side followed by broadened rear. Moving towards the front fascia it has been developed with newly designed bumpers along with large grille. Earlier it was speculated that company will bring the facelift version of Sail, but now going through the reports received from spies it is anticipated that General Motors is completely going to offer refurnished Sail to China and global car industry.
At present Sail is being sold with options of two engines i.e. 86bhp 1.2-litre or a 102bhp 1.4-litre unit. But now both these engine options are expected to be eliminated with introduction of new Chevrolet Sail which will be equipped with 1.5 litre engine churning the power of 110 bhp and torque of 141 Nm. The existing model of Sail was launched last year in Chinese car market but did not succeeded in meeting the expectations of both customers and manufacturers. It is expected that after launching the new Sail in China company will immediately launch the same vehicle in India, where at present Sail being sold in both petrol and diesel variants with price tag of base variant starting from Rs. 5.23 lakh.
