Chevrolet Sail U-VA to take on Maruti Swift, Etios Liva with 1.2 L engine under hood

Three Chevrolet cars will be the three big launches by the car maker this year. These are the Chevrolet Sail U-VA hatchback, Chevrolet Sail sedan and the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV. Gradually, there has been much information that is available about these Chevrolet cars and their Indian models. More information about the Sail U-VA has come up and this is expected to make it more attractive than the Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz and other cars. Notably, the Sail U-VA is an upcoming Chevrolet car and it is expected to land somewhere in the Rs 4 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh price segment where it will have a lot of competitors. Thus it is expected that the hatchback will have a lot of features that will make it a solid opponent of the already existing giants.

As per the information, the Sail U-VA will inherit the success of the 1.2 l engine of the Chevrolet Beat and is expected to perform well under the hood of the upcoming Chevrolet’s hatchback. The engine produces 82 bhp and a peak torque of 108 Nm that makes it out the best in class performance when mated to a five speed gearbox. Earlier the rumor mongers almost predicted a 1.4 L petrol head under the hood of the new Chevrolet car but now it is almost sure that this 1.4 L petrol engine will do its service inside the Chevrolet Sal sedan. The Sail twins are nearing their launch and it is expected that Chevrolet will be launching it just before Diwali in order to grab a major chunk of hatchback and sedan car buying during the festive season.

There are two reasons that favor the use of 1.2 L engine in the Sail U-VA. First is that it will invite excise benefits for the new car and secondly, the new car will have no problem in production and there will not a single minute delay in delivery as the engine is already in production at the Chevrolet plant.
