Chevrolet Sail UV-A could sport 1.4 L petrol engine

Recent months have been busy for Chevrolet. It has launched the new Chevrolet Captiva and it has launched the new Chevrolet Cruze. The Chinese offering Sail sedan and hatchback from this American car maker are soon to be launched in India and as per the latest update the Chevrolet Sail U-VA will be powered by a 1.4 L petrol engine which will make it more than powerful in its segment. Notably, the Sail sedan and hatchback are expected to be volume pullers and Chevrolet has high hopes with these cars in India.

It is expected that the Chevrolet Sail UVA will be launched in India this year and in all probability it will have 1.4 L petrol engine under the bonnet and will have the 1.3 L multijet diesel engine that is sourced from Fiat will be there adorning the Sail hatchback. Meanwhile the reports also suggest that the 1.2 L petrol engine that is in duty of Chevrolet Beat will not make it to Sail UV-A and the more powerful one will power it. This move has shocked the auto industry experts as import of 1.4 L engine will attract higher duty and will further hike the price of the Sail hatchback.

Meanwhile, contrary to the popular belief that Sail sedan and hatch will be highly cheap offering by GM, the recent revelations say that the hatchback will be hit the premium car segment. The move is shocking as the features that the car maker is thinking of putting in the two Sail cars are nowhere near to the premium segment and thus it these are launched to target premium segment it is said that this will be Chevrolet greatest blunder. In fact what India needs at this time is an affordable sedan and ultra low priced hatchback.
