Datsun Boosts The Redi Go Family With 1000 CC Engine
Datsun the subsidiary of Japanese car maker Nissan Motors has added a new member in the family of its Redi Go hatchback with 1000 cc engine. The entry level variant of hatchback is offered with 0.8 litre engine. The 1000 cc engine has been introduced in the top end variants S and T(O). The new 1.0 litre Redi Go is offered with price tag of Rs. 3.57 lakh (ex-showroom) and costs Rs.25,000 higher than the variant with 800 cc engine.
It is believed that with new power train the Redi Go will succeed in impressing more customers towards it, however as far as fuel efficiency figures are concerned it is reported to offer an average of 22.5 kmpl, which is only 0.2 kmpl less than the existing variant. The bookings of the newly introduced variant had been initiated by the car maker few days back at the down payment of Rs. 10,000.
The new 1000 cc Datsun Go is reported to generate the power of 67 bhp and torque of 91Nm and mated with five speed manual gearbox transmission system. It is believed that going through the encouraging response of buyers towards Redi Go, the car maker might introduce AMT variant also in 1000 cc engine trim of this hatchback. As far as other mechanical changes are concerned the Japanese car maker has not introduced any change and continued with existing mechanism. One thing which however might disappoint the buyers is absence of ABS system, which is not even offered as optional.
The other major features introduced in Redi Go 1000 include black interior, engine immobilizer, driver side airbag, power steering and windows, central locking, air conditioning, digital tachometer, audio system with remote control, both side ORVMs, AUX and USB support and DRLs.
