Datsun launches Sport Limited Edition of redi Go
Japanese car maker and Nissan’s subsidiary Datsun has launched the Sport Limited Edition of its urban crossover hatchback redi-Go in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The limited edition has been introduced in top end trim S. Being a Sport Edition the exterior of new redi-Go embellishes body graphics followed by black and red accents. Developed on CMF-A platform that is also used in developing the hatchbacks like Datsun Go and Renault Kwid in the collaboration of French car maker Renault and Japanese auto giant Nissan. To promote the Datsun redi-Go Sport Edition the Japanese car maker has announced Olympic Bronze Medal winner Sakshi Malik as its Brand Ambassador and also handed over the keys of its first unit to her.
Under the hood redi-Go Sport Edition continues same existing engine configuration of 0.8 litre three cylinder petrol engine that boosts the power of 53 bhp and torque of 72Nm. mated with five speed manual gearbox and delivers an ARAI approved average of 25.17 kmpl. Recently 310 units of redi-Go were sold during the Malayalam New Year by company. Now after launch Datsun redi-Go will place tough competition against Hyudnai Eon, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Renault Kwid.
Talking about the changes introduced on the exteriors of this urban crossover hatchback it continues almost the same appearance as offered in standard version of Datsun redi-Go and includes subtle changes in form of sportier body graphics. Major updates on exterior include black front grille with red accents, black decals and LED DRLs. The side profile also receives matte black decals on doors and black racing strips from front bumper to rear portion. The redi-Go Sport Edition also gets black colored wheel coves with red accents. The rear portion is updated with sportier black rear spoiler followed by black colored rear bumper.
Inside the cabin the redi-Go Sport Edition is customized with sportier black colored dashboard, red highlights on air conditioner vents and steering wheel. The Interiors also adorn black fabric seat followed by contrast red stitching. Storage boxes at different places, glove box, cup holders and door pockets. The list of safety features include engine immobilizer, child safety locks on rear doors, remote central lock as standard features followed by driver side airbag offered on the top end variant.
