Facelift BMW 5 Series to be launched on October 10, 2013
German luxury car maker BMW has announced that it will launch the facelift version of BMW 5 Series in Indian car market on October 10, 2013. The major features mounted in facelift include various changes in interiors and exteriors. Prior to this BMW had unveiled facelift BMW Series 5 in global market on May 19 this year. The major cosmetic changes introduced in exteriors of facelift includes newly designed headlamps, upgraded bumpers followed by newly developed grille, which has now become an integral part of all BMW models. Moving towards the rear side BMW has not made any noticeable changes except upgraded rear bumper followed by new taillights and exhaust pipes.
It is speculated that in facelift version BMW will integrate four cylinder diesel engine 518d that produces the power of 144 PS. It would be interested to know that BMW already has six variants running on Indian roads and now it is expected that the top end variants will be adorned with V8 engine that will produce the power of 450 PS and will carry carries Active Hybrid 5 technology developed by BMW. As far as the price of facelift version of BMW 5 Series is concerned it is speculated that it will launched with price tag falling between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 42 lakh (ex-showroom) price. BMW 5 Series is strong contender of Audi A6 and Mercedes Benz E-Class.
The other major visible changes integrated in facelift include alloy wheels and external rear view mirror with indicators integrated on it. The facelifts introduced in interiors include new enhanced upholstery, and two new packages including modern line package and luxury line package along with existing M line package. The other facelifts will be disclosed after launch.
