Ford Fiesta AT launching tomorrow
Ford India will be launching Ford Fiesta Automatic tomorrow in the country. Until now, it was available in five speed manual gearbox option only. After the Ford Fiesta AT launch tomorrow, the Ford sedan will be giving an affordably priced option to the segment that has Volkswagen Vento, Honda City and Hyundai Verna as its major players. The launch is exactly after Ford recently opened up record 45 dealerships in a single day and the inflated dealership number will benefit Ford Fiesta AT sales in India. Expected to be priced Rs 11 lakh, there are lot of buyers who have wished for Fiesta AT and they will be rushing to the dealerships tomorrow.

As per sources, the Fiesta AT will be using the dual clutch power shift gearbox that is claimed to be enter this segment and since been found in the premium sedan segment dominated by Skoda Laura and Volkswagen Jetta. Contrary to the present 5-speed manual gearbox, the new automatic Fiesta will have a six speed gearbox. Notably, only the petrol versions Fiesta Titanium and Fiesta Titanium + are expected to taste this new transmission in India. With the new gearbox, these two Fiesta Automatic models will also be equipped with uphill and downhill assist systems apart from freedom of shifting gears.

Reports suggests that the automatic transmission in Ford Fiesta is technologically advanced and despite being offered with a paddle shifter, the car will be quite easier to drive with it. Apart from this, the new Fiesta AT will also be needing less maintenance as the transmission is claimed to be maintenance free for 2.4 lakh kilometers or 10 years. The Ford Fiesta AT road tests have been quite promising and have reported it to be agile as its 5-speed manual transmission siblings. Besides, Ford also claims better mileage on the new Fiesta AT.
