Game Plan of Ford India

The Auto giant of US, Ford is now planning to spread new sales and service centers in India more than 200 in the year 2011 and triple the dealership by 2016.The company has plan to enhance its portfolio with the introduction of eight new cars in the Indian market.

Recently The Ford India kicked off its first dealership in Srinagar, Jammu &Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar and second dealership in Guwahati, Assam.

Nigel Wark,Director Marketing of Ford India told Hindustan Times that the company currently has 189 sales and service outlets spread across 108 cities in India and they will add more 20 outlets this year.

According to the company strategy, Ford is looking forward for five to six small sized cars in India for coming five years. The brand certainly needs to spread out beyond metro cities so that small cars can gather good sales volume.

To make strong move in smaller cities, company has to have three service points for every two dealership, said Wark.

Currently the Ford India market share is 3%. Now they are focusing on tierIII and tierIV cities to meliorate its market share in India.
