Honda Amaze bookings over 22000 units, waiting period hits 5 months
Honda Amaze, the first diesel sedan car by Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, was launched in India on April 11, 2013, at starting price of Rs. 4.99 lakh for the petrol model and Rs. 5.99 lakh for the diesel model. And, since launch the beast is doing very well in domestic market. In terms of sales and bookings it has driven past the newly launched same segment sedan, Chevrolet Sail while the country's best selling compact sedan Maruti Swift Dzire is reporting tough competition.

Honda Amaze bookings have touched the mark of 22,000 units within a launch period of three weeks in Indian auto market. Its diesel model is receiving tremendous response. As per reports, the waiting period for Honda Amaze diesel model has touched the mark of five months in National Capital Region. Meanwhile petrol Amaze has a waiting period of six to eight weeks.
In April this year, the Japanese auto giant reported a growth of 20 per cent in sales against the sales of last year. The company sold only 4,852 units of this popular vehicle in April this year which is 1416 more than the total sales of Chevrolet Sail which were stood at 3436 units. The diesel avatar of the Amaze sedan which offers six variants from features wise, is reporting very aggressive response. It comes loaded with a 1.5 i-DTEC engine which was specially developed for Indian auto market. Meanwhile the petrol trim of the vehicle has a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine under the hood and offers four variants.
