Honda Amaze to be launched in Indonesia and South Africa after India

Honda Motors has already launched Honda Brio Amaze sedan a couple of weeks back in Thailand. Now, the buzz in the industry suggests that the car is expected to be launched in India in April 2013. After being launched in India, Amaze will hit the Indonesian and South African shores. However, the launch date for Indonesia and South Africa hasn’t been set now, but the official announcement is expected in next few months.

The Indian launch of Honda Amaze is one of the most anticipated ones for Honda fans here. With Honda Amaze, the 1.5 litre diesel unit will be coming to India for the first time. This engine belongs to Honda’s Earth Dreams project. The Brio Amaze sedan is actually based on the Brio hatchback platform, but if we look at the appearance of the car, it is completely stylish and different from Brio hatchback. Just like Toyota Etios twins and Maruti Suzuki Swift and Swift Dzire, Honda India will be marking its presence in both the segments with brio hatchback and Amaze sedan.

Of late, the company rolled out the Brio hatchback in South Africa, which was assembled in India. And the same is expected to happen with Brio Amaze sedan. Besides the new 1.5 litre diesel engine unit, the car will also be offered in 1.2 litre petrol engine. This engine will be delivering 90PS of peak power output and will be coupled with five-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

If we talk about the competition for Honda Amaze sedan in India, well, it should be prepared for a hefty one. The Indian car bazaar has successful cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios, Tata Indica eCS and Mahindra Verito, which will make sure that Amaze get a tough heat in the Indian car bazaar.
