Honda Brio Amaze diesel to hit the Indian shores after March 2013
Honda India is mulling to launch its much awaited Amaze diesel sedan in the Indian car market in 2013. According to the fresh reports, the company is planning to bring in this sedan after March 2013. This sedan is based on the Brio hatchback platform. This will be company’s first diesel sedan that would come under the sub-4 meter category. Falling into this length category, the car prices are expected to be utterly competitive and affordable for the Indian audience.
Another thing that is exciting one and all is that Honda Amaze sedan will be the first diesel car by Honda that will be launched in India. The car will have a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine under the hood, which has been derived from 1.6 litre i-DTEC mill. This 1.5 litre engine is being manufactured at Honda’s Tapukara plant located in Rajasthan. The parts of the car are being localized, to make the prices affordable and economical. The engine here is capable of generating peak power output of 90BHP along with producing 200Nm of maximum torque. The Honda Brio Amaze sedan will also be launched in a petrol variant, which will feature 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine also seen in Brio and Jazz hatchback.

With Honda Brio sedan, Honda is planning to capture a big chunk in the Indian car bazaar. Its premium cars like Honda Accord, Honda CR-V, and Honda City have already made its reputation strong in the market, and now it is aiming to do well in the small car segment in the country. Also, Honda is working on a Brio based MPV and Jazz based compact SUV in future. Furthermore, according to the grapevine, the company might bring in a range of small cars for the Indian car market.
