Honda Brio launch on 27th Sept, Specs unveiled
Honda Brio, the most awaited car of this festive season, will soon be seen running Indian roads. The Japanese Honda giant Honda is all set to mark its debut in the highly competitive compact hatchback segment, in this festive season. After its launch, the new Honda Brio will be the cheapest Honda car in the Indian market, the place which is so far acquired by premium hatchback Honda Jazz.
The Honda Brio will come equipped with the same 1.2L, 1198cc, i-VTEC, petrol engine that is powering Jazz hatchback. The powerful 1.2L, SOHC, i-VTEC Petrol engine is most powerful in its class with maximum output of 88 bhp at 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 109 nm at 4600 rpm. The car will come coupled with a five speed manual transmission initially, which will possibly be followed by an automatic transmission version a few months after. While keeping in mind the moderate response received by the Honda Jazz model due to its high price tag, the company would be pricing Brio model competitively in its segment. The Honda Brio is expected to be priced in the range of sub Rs 5 lakh, where it will be competing with the likes of Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Etios Liva, Maruti Swift, Chevrolet Beat, Nissan Micra, etc.
The major attractions of the all new Honda Brio model include all-new design theme, full glass rear hatch, integrated rear spoiler. Moreover, it will come loaded with a range of advanced comfort & convenience features including beige-black theme, quality is top-notch, 2-din music system, electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors, all four power windows and steering mounted audio controls. Moreover, the car is featured with an Eco lamp that keeps you aware of environment friendly driving.

As per the company, the Honda Brio is one of the safest cars in its segment with top end variant carrying safety features like dual airbags, ABS (antilock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) etc. Earlier, the safety features like ABS and airbags were expected to come standard will all variants of Brio, but in a bid to keep the base model highly price competitive, the company may decide to drop these features from the base model.
The car will be rolled-out in three variants that comprises of E, V and S, base, middle and top model respectively. The exciting colors that company is expected to offer with Brio model include White, Black, Red, Green, Blue, Grey, Silver, etc.

However, at a time when there has been a major shift of buyers towards diesel run vehicles, the availability of Honda Brio in only petrol version will definitely prove a loop hole in its sales. The lack of features like alloy wheels and rear defogger in even the top end variant can be considered a drawback with the car.
