Jaguar Land Rover signs letter of intent with Saudi Arabia

Today the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover and the President of National Industrial Clusters Development Program (NICDP) signed the letter of intent, which made the path for an automotive partnership in Saudi Arabia. At present, everything is at the initial stage, but the opportunities are already figured out in aluminium component product at which JLR has a solid reputation.

JLR is the most well-known premium car maker in United Kingdom and NICDP will now commence the detailed possibility of determining the practicality of establishing a manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia. The government of Saudi Arabia and HRH Price Faisal Bin Turki bin Abdul Azi Al Saud is supportive of this plant and sees that JLR has the potential to fortify the industrialization in the country.An alliance between the Alcoa of United States and Saudi Arabian Mining Company will turn out to be the world’s largest incorporated aluminium complex. This project is expected to begin in 2014 at the Ras Al Khair facility. This will also pave way for more chances in the automotive sector.

Jaguar Land Rover has already established itself as the top-most aluminium body development in the premium car segment. It has made use of lightweight metals for Jaguar XJ and other Range Rover models launched recently. The development of a new facility in Saudi Arabia will certainly require huge investment. There will some detailed discussion about the investment very soon. So far, there is no news about the amount, but soon it will be made official to the media. Expectations suggest that things will get official by the beginning of 2013. JLR is excited about the project as this collaboration will allow the premium car maker to establish a strong partnership. Jaguar Land Rover cars look great. These cars' very aggressive appearance catches eye-balls while the performance is great but in terms of pricing these are very costly.
