Jaguar starts the booking of XJ speculating to launch in June
The British Multinational car making giant after unveiling its saloon sedan Jaguar XJ 2014 during the Indian Auto Expo concluded last month is speculating to launch the same in Indian car market sometime in the month of June this year. For this it has started the booking of saloon on the down payment of Rs. 5 lakh. The saloon will be brought in Indian car market through CKD route from where it will be assembled at company’s assembling plant located at Pune. After launch it is expected that this saloon will compete with Mercedes S Class and other upcoming luxurious sedans in Indian car market.
The Jaguar XJ 2014 will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants with petrol version to be powered with 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged engine churning the power of 236.7 bhp at 5,500 rpm and torque of 340 Nm. It is capable of achieving the top speed of 240 kmph and cross the mark of 100 kmph within the span of 7.5 seconds.
Moving ahead the diesel variant will be empowered with 3.0 litre six cylinder engine developing the power of 271 bhp and torque of 4000 rpm and torque of 600 Nm. It has potential to gear up the top speed of 250 kmp and cross the mark of 100 kmph in 6.4 seconds. Both the variants of Jaguar XJ will be coated with eight speed automatic transmission system.
