There is a drastic change in Indian car buyers’ sentiments. Long back, Maruti 800, Ambassador, Fiat Premier Padminis used to rule Indian roads but now they are a rare sight. Everyone is looking for style, size and brand in cars and hence, hatchbacks and luxury segment cars are in demand. Now, just owning a car is not enough.

Luxury brands BMW, Audi and Mercedes have splendid sales figures in Indian Auto market and the demand is increasing in all cities. The rental service provider Carzonrent bought 90 units of Mercedes Benz C Class last week as, there is huge demand for luxury cars in personal mobility solutions. Last Year 100 Mercedes cars were sold in one day in Aurangabad.

The Indian carmakers are also working in the direction to meet the competition and fulfill the demands of Indian auto market. Tata Motors introduced a family car, Tata Indica in 1998 and launched the world’s cheapest car in 2009. Jaguar Land Rover entered the Indian car market through Tata Motors. Maruti has expanded its footprints in the country and is presently having 10 models and is ready to launch its new Maruti Swift in August, 2011. Tomorrow, General Motors is all set for world-wide launch of its diesel version of Chevrolet Beat. In present scenario, the Indian car buyers have lots of choice in all the segments.
