Mahindra Exhibits Scorpio Pickup in Spain
India grown car maker Mahindra and Mahindra has showcased its new pickup truck to be christened as Mahindra Goa pickup during the Automobile Barcelona 2017 in Spain. The new Goa pickup is developed Scorpio platform and had been caught undergoing the test drive on several occasions at Indian roads. According to company sources the proposed truck will be launched in Western European countries and the Indian car maker doesn’t have any plan to launch the same in domestic car market.
Mechanically, the Scorpio pickup will be empowered with the same engine configuration of 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that boosts the power of 120 bhp and torque of 290Nm as offered in generation next Scorpio SUV being sold in Spanish car market. The transmission duties will be mated by five speed manual gear transmission system. The pickup will go for sale in European car market from the beginning of 2018. During the Automobile Barcelona 2017, the car maker also showcased the Special Edition of Scorpio SUV with dual tone treatment, XUV Aero concept that was showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2016, Mahindra KUV100 and XUV500.
On the exterior front it carries the same design philosophy as offered in regular Mahindra Scorpio in form of chrome garnished front grille customized with headlamps with projector lights and DRLs, circle fog lamps with trapezoidal plastic cladding on both the sides. The front bumper also adorns underbody plastic cladding along with front skid plate for protection. The side profile receives enlarged wheel arches, five spoke alloy wheels, body colored ORVMs, black colored door handles and many more.
Inside the cabin it receives completely new outlook in form of black colored treatment replacing the existing white and black dual colored tone. Other features include four spoke steering wheel, air conditioner vents, touchscreen infotainment system, silver garnished gear lever, new central console etc.
