Mahindra Scorpio Electric In the Pipeline of M&M For 2019

Mahindra Scorpio, the trendsetter of SUV in the Indian car market from domestic car maker is undergoing major mechanical update. According to reports Indian auto giant and maker of Scorpio Mahindra and Mahindra is soon going to launch the electric trims of this best seller SUV in the Indian car market. Reports also reveal that spies have caught the electric Scorpio being tested on the roads and is expected  to make its debut sometimes during 2019. Earlier Dr. Pawan Goenka, MD, Mahindra and Mahindra had announced that their group will be bringing two electric cars in the coming years, although he did not revealed the name of the vehicles, therefore it is speculated that those two vehicles would be from its existing line-up.

According to the sources of company it is planning to make an investment of Rs. 4,000 crore for developing electronic vehicles. On the other side with announcement by the Indian government for stopping the driving of vehicles based on fossil fuels in India by 2030, all major car makers have already started developing their strategies for shifting towards electrification of their vehicles. The sources of company also revealed that it aims to manufacture 50,000 units of electric vehicles in coming couple of years. Along with this the car maker is also looking for some group to co-operate for manufacturing of electronic motors to be empowered in the upcoming launches made by the company. 
 
At present Mahindra & Mahindra is selling three electric vehicles namely eVerito sedan, E2o plus hatchback and Supro Electric. However, unfortunately due to high cost as compared to petrol and diesel cars they have not succeeded in grabbing the attention of car enthusiasts.
