Maruti Suzuki Adds Two New CNG Variants In S-Presso Line-Up

The country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited has upgraded the line-up of its micro-SUV S-Presso with two new variants. The new CNG variants are introduced into LXi and VXi trims, and priced at Rs 5.90 lakh and Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom price) in New Delhi. The newly introduced CNG variant is Rs 95,000 more expensive than its petrol variant. It is the second time the car maker has launched the CNG variant of the mini-SUV. Before this, in 2020, also the company had introduced its CNG variant with the company-fitted kit. According to the company sources, it has sold out more than 2.26 lakh units of S-Presso in the Indian car market.

Under the hood, the CNG variant will receive a 1.0-litre dual jet, dual VVT petrol engine. It will generate a peak torque of 82.1Nm and deliver an average of 32.75 kmpl. It is the tenth product by the company to come with a company-fitted kit. The S-Presso CNG will compete with Renault Kwid and Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 in the Indian car market. Although there the CNG variants of these cars are yet to come into the market.
 
Speaking about the cosmetic changes, the CNG S-Presso looks identical to its petrol version, except for the S-CNG logo is studded on the tailgate. Inside the cabin, it gets a 55-litre CNG tank in the boot. As far as the safety features are concerned, it comes equipped with dual airbags, ABS+EBD, seat belt reminders and rear parking sensors as standard features.
