Maruti Suzuki Baleno With BS VI Badge Launched In India
Country’s premium carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the new BS VI compliant version of its best selling hatchback Baleno in the Indian car market with the starting price of Rs. 5.58 lakh. Under the hood, the new Baleno is equipped with engine options of 1.2 litre DUALJET and 1.2 litre DUAL VVT petrol engines, equipped with Next-Generation Smart Hybrid Technology. The new BS VI compliant Baleno will be offered across all the trims mated with either manual gear transmission system or an automatic transmission system. The new Baleno would be also sold from the Nexa showrooms like earlier.
Addressing the launch of new Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback Mr.R.S Kalsi - Senior Executive Director - Marketing & Sales - Maruti Suzuki India said, “Baleno has been a blockbuster car from day one. We have over 5.5 lakh happy Baleno customers since its launch in 2015 and sold more than 2 lakh units in the last fiscal year. We recently upgraded Baleno with latest design and technology. At Maruti Suzuki, we strive to bring newer, better and environment-friendly technologies to our products. Baleno Smart Hybrid with BS VI stands testament to the same. We are confident that the premium hatchback Baleno will present a complete package in line with aspirations of evolving customers.”
The new Next Generation Smart Hybrid Technology offers improved fuel efficiency with less emissions. The Smart Hybrid Technology is offered with compact Lithium-ion battery pack and helps the driver to make use of the functions like Torque Assist Function, Brake Energy Function and Idle Start Stop Function. At present the Hybrid Technology will be however offered only two variants namely Zeta and Delta, under both the engine configurations. The new BS VI compliant engines are reported to deliver the fuel efficiency of 23.82 kmpl.
