Maruti Swift in a transformed version

India’s leading car makers, Maruti Suzuki’s best selling car Maruti Swift has been completely transformed. The Company is planning the launch of revamped Maruti swift by next month. New Maruti Suzuki swift will be more fuel efficient and will be available in two variants having1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engines.

The new Maruti Swift is expected to be more spacious, light and will give better mileage as compared to the existing Maruti swift. The new car will be light in weight as the metal fuel tank has been replaced by a plastic tank which will improve its fuel efficiency by 13%.

Maruti Swift was launched six years ago and this will be its first major face-lift. The company has not yet revealed the anticipated price of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift.

The company’s plant situated at Manesar, Haryana which had to deal with workers agitation recently, will be producing the New Maruti swift. The diesel variant of new car is expected to deliver a mileage of 23.8 km/l as compared to existing model’s 21 Km/l and its petrol variant will be giving a mileage of around 20 Km/l as compared to existing17.9 Km/l.

Car experts consider Plastic fuel tanks to be 25-35% lighter as compared with traditional metal tanks and these are durable, recyclable, non-explosive and Corrosion free. Maruti Suzuki India has tied up a tripartite joint venture with plastic Omnium, World’s largest plastic fuel tanks manufacturer and Suzuki Motor Corporation for manufacture and installation of plastic fuel tanks.

It is also speculated that the new Maruti Swift petrol will feature the four-speed automatic transmission along with the regular five-speed manual. The car is a big success for the company by holding a share of 25 per cent in the hatchback segment with top competitors as Hyundai i20, Skoda Fabia, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra, Toyota Liva and Fiat Grande Punto.
