Maruti to phase out A-Star from its fleet

Here is some surprising new coming out from the campus of country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited. It is reported that company is going phase out its one more model Maruti Suzuki A-Star from Indian car market. It would be important to mention that couple of few weeks’ back Maruti has stopped the production Zen Estilo.  By eliminating these two models from fleet of its cars Maruti wants to open way for entrance of new cars in its hatchback segment. It should be remembered both these models have played an important to role in strengthening company’s position in Indian car market to great extent. However with increasing competition in hatchback segment during recent resulted in decline of sales of these models due to which company has to take this decision.

According to sales information revealed by company for first fiscal year sales of both Estilo and A-Star witnessed huge decline, which was even lesser that Maruti 800. Although company recorded an increase of 3% in its sales by selling out 4.86 units of Maruti vehicles during this period, but this increase was due to sales of another established model in Indian car market namely, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Dzire, Swift.

Industry experts belive that by replacing outdated models from market company wants to develop a platform for new models with fresh designs and refreshed fuel economic engines. According to industry analysts with introduction of new fuel efficient vehicles by International car makers in Indian car market local car manufacturers have to work in pressure of developing fuel efficient vehicles by minimizing their cost of production.
