Mercedes Benz launched SLK 55 AMG in Indian car market
German luxurious car maker Mercedes Benz has launched Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG roadster with price tag of Rs. 1,25,90,000 (ex-showroom price in New Delhi). This is the third of the specifically designed AMG marquee vehicles designed for Indian market after launch of G63 SUV and E63 AMG sedan. The new SLK 55 AMG has been equipped with 5.5 litre V8 engine generating the power of 422 bhp and torque of 540 Nm. It accelerates the power from still to 100 kmp at the span of 4.5 second and reaches the peak speed of 250 kmph. The power to rear wheels is transmitted through AMG speed shift Plus 7G-Tronic transmission system. Apart from this it also integrates vectoring brakes followed by AMG direct steer system.
As far as the architecture of this car is concerned it is almost similar to other vehicles of SLK Series. But as it is car of an AMG brand it gets equipped with leather and carbon fiber instead of plastic and alacantra. The major features integrated in this AMG car includes infotainment sytem, air scarf neck heating technology, rollover protection, magic sky control technology for sunroof, and contrast stitching for seats. Moving ahead it also carries common features of SLK series like folding hardtop, large mesh grille, air intake, LED DRLs and headlights.
Moving towards the side profile it has been developed on the same SLK platform including sportier lines followed by large AMG spec alloy wheels. The rear profile is supported by large rear skirt with quad chrome exhaust. Apart from this rear has also been developed with LED Stop lights along with LED brake lights.
