Mercedes Benz launches special “Edition E” of E-Class

To commemorate the successful existence for two decades in Indian car market by its luxurious sedan E-Class, German car maker Mercedes Benz launched its special edition christened as “Edition E” with starting price of Rs. 48.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for base and going high up-to Rs. 60.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The special edition will also be offered in three variants namely E200, E250 and E350 CDI. Of- these three variants E200 is petrol variant which is priced Rs. 48.6 lakh, while the other two E250 and E30 CDI are diesel variants which are priced Rs. 50.7 lakh and 60.61 lakh respectively. (These prices are ex-showroom prices, New Delhi).

Mechanically the E Class Edition E continues the same engine options as offered in existing variants. The E200 is offered with same 2.0 lire petrol engine boosting the power of 184 bhp and torque of 300 Nm, E250 with 2.2 litre diesel engine generating the power of 240 bhp and torque of 500 Nm, while E350 CDI is empowered with 3.0 litre diesel engine churning the power of 265 b hp and torque of 620Nm. The variants are mated with seven speed automatic gearbox system.

Talking about the features that are offered in special edition of E-class, it is offered with subtle changes comprising of Edition E badge at various points of body. The front fascia has been customised with minute changes comprising of newly developed headlamps and new grille. Apart from this it also integrates Garmin navigation system as standard feature followed by entertainment unit for rear seat passengers.
