Mercedes Benz S300L priced at Rs 77.05 lakh to take on Audi A8 L, BMW 7 Series, and Jaguar XF

Believe it or not but Mercedes Benz S Class will soon be available at Rs 77.05 lakh. Recently, it has been caught in a ready to be dispatched state at the German car maker’s car plant at Chakan. There are also rumors that the company will not be organizing any formal Mercedes Benz S Class launch event and it will be made available across dealerships from where the dealers will be publishing it among the prospective clients. The low priced Mercedes Benz S300L will be giving a tough time to Audi A8 L, BMW 7-Series, and Jaguar XF.

Sources said that since this is a high priced car and since it does not cater to the mass segment, the German car maker has not launched it at a formal even though sources further said that price and listing of the Mercedes Benz S300L is already been updated on the official website. Thus after this soft launch the Mercedes Benz S Class S300L petrol luxury saloon will be available across Mercedes dealerships in India at a price tag of Rs 77.05 lakh and is the lowest priced car among the S Class.

Orders for the same have been taken by the dealers. The S300L features a 3L V6 petrol engine with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The S300L now becomes the entry level car of the segment and with reduced price, the German car maker expects that there will be a surge in demand. Notably, the car is being produced at the Chakan facility from a semi-knocked down state. Compared to the higher variants, Mercedes has replaced the engine with a 3L motor in order to keep the price down. The S Class car by Mercedes Benz caters to the ultra luxury segment in India and is the best selling car in the segment. Thus introducing a low priced model will throw Audi A8 L, BMW 7-Series, and Jaguar XF out of competition.
