New BMW X1 images leaked ahead of unveiling ceremony
The images of the new generation BMW X1 crossover, which is scheduled to be showcased at the upcoming New York Auto Show, has been leaked and published on a number of auto blogs, recently. The all new 2012 BMW X1 is all set to mark its entry in the North American market soon after its showcase at the New York Auto Show.

A number of cosmetic changes have been made in the new 2012 BMW X1 including changes at both exterior and interior fronts including newly styled headlamps along with new bumpers at the front. The wing mirrors of the new X1 are newly designed which are offered with integrated blinkers. The rear end has also been offered a more urban look by addition of new bumper and tail lamps. Inside, the new 2012 BMW X1 will be carrying an improved quality material and newly designed central console.

The vehicle will come equipped with two engine options including 2 liter, 4 cylinder engine which generates a peak power of 240 bhp, and a twin turbo 6 cylinder petrol engine that generates a peak power of 300 bhp. It is expected that the company would be offering either a 6 speed or 8 speed automatic gearbox with the powerful engine unit of the car. The twin turbo 6 cylinder petrol engine is expected to come equipped with a BMW xDrive – an all wheel drive system.

The Indian buyers can expect the launch of new 2012 BMW X1 facelift in the country by the end of this year or early next year, with a slight price hike. The coming years will be proving highly competitive for the BMW X1 in the Indian market with its arch rivals Mercedes Benz and Audi are all-set to mark debut in this segment by launching B-Class and Q3 in the Indian market.
