New BMW X1 to launch in India by January

 

BMW, the luxury car-maker in India, will soon be introducing its one of the top selling crossover BMW X1’s revamped version on the domestic shores. The face-lifted avatar of BMW X1 will make its debut in the Indian auto market by January, 2013 and speculations are that it would be arriving via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route like its current variant in order to keep the price nominal. The arrival of new BMW X1 can be a troublesome for cars like Audi Q3, Mercedes Benz A Class and B Class. However, the load of pressure would be more on the auto-maker Audi, which struggling to rise over BMW in terms of sales.

BMW knows it well that it will have to come up with fresh introductions if it wants to secure its top spot over the other luxury German brands like Audi and Mercedes Benz. Interestingly, BMW will soon have the refined BMW X1 running on shores. It is anticipated that the 2013 BMW X1 will have major changes on its front and rear profile, to make it look more elegant than the previous versions. Moreover, this luxury SUV will witness facelift in its interior profile. The dash-board will also get some minor changes with new design. 
 
Besides this, the popular 2.0 litre inline is also expected to get some changes. The all new X1 will come mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission which is at present 6 speed AT in the current X1 models. You can certainly expect that two additional gear ratios will enable this super machine to deliver improved performance, better mileage and more efficient handling. Sources say that the new 2.0 inline will have caliber to toss out peak power of 184 Bhp and maximum torque of 380 Nm. As far as the petrol inline is concerned, the new X1 is said to come installed with 2.0 Liter turbo petrol inline.

This new petrol motor is speculated to churn better performance and torque of 184 Bhp and 270 Nm respectively. With buzz in the industry that Audi India will introduce the Q3 crossover with new 2.0 Liter TFSI petrol engine, BMW India is also on the right track to give it a tough competition with its revamped BMW X1 installed with improved turbo petrol inline. Price of new X1 is acclaimed to be somewhat close to its current model.

Not only entry level car makers but also luxury vehicle makers have also targeted the Indian SUV segment which is showing great growth in these days. The new BMW X1 will sure be a bundle of innovative features as well as impressive body design.
