New Chevrolet Cruze in America

General Motors’ Chevrolet Cruze is one of the most prominent products in the Indian car bazaar. The Cruze sedan was introduced by GM in the year of 2008 at the Paris Motor Show. In India as well, the car has been doing a good business since the time of its launch. In 2012, GM actually gave Chevrolet Cruze some minor makeover, but General Motors India didn’t give the car the external facelift but instead upgraded the engine department. The tweaked Chevrolet Cruze in India was launched in June-end 2012 with a price tag of Rs. 13.85 to Rs. 15.67 lakh.

In the American car market, General Motors is facing a tough competition since a long time now. Chevrolet Cruze is one of the most dominating one in USA and giving cars like Toyota Corolla a run for their money. Currently, the rumors in the market suggest that General Motors is working on Cruze yet again and would give it a major facelift very soon. The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze will be launched in United States of America by the same time next year. However, till now there is no news about the updates that would be done on Cruze, but according to some reliable sources, the new Chevrolet Cruze will get its front profile redone. The car looks will be inspired from Chevrolet’s Impala.

The under the hood specifications of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze for US are expected to feature 2.0 litre of Eco-D engine that is being developed by General Motors’ power train team in Michigan, Torino, Pontiac and Italy. If rumors are to be believed, the car maker is trying its level best to take the fuel economy figures of the new Chevrolet Cruze sedan to a whopping 21.25kmpl.

It is expected that the new Chevrolet Cruze would be first revealed at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. However, now the main question arises that whether or not General Motors India will take up these changes or will it discard it like before. It would be exciting to see what is in store for General Motors fans in India.
