New Chevrolet Cruze to sport 2 L Z Series engine, launch this Diwali

General Motor has been recently busy with upgrading its portfolio and putting up the new versions of its cars both in India and world over. Latest addition is the Chevrolet Tavera Neo3 and recently there are reports coming in that the American car maker is busy with the heart transplant of its premium sedan Chevrolet Cruze. The latest almost confirmed reports suggest that the Cruze will be getting a Z Series engine growling under the bonnet. The DOHC engine is a 2 litre four pot one that can comfortably output 163 hp without much effort. The common rail diesel technology seems to be at its best in this engine. With the new more sportier engine in, it is expected that the interiors of the Cruze will also receive a serious facelift. However, car buyers will have to wait until any official teaser or image leaks from Chevrolet’s closet.

As per reports, the new Cruze that is expected by this year end or early next year will receive LED illuminated interiors. The new Cruze interiors will be clad in dual colors. Notably, GM India is said to be in the process of carrying out a survey in this regard and will be hopefully arriving at the conclusions based on it soon. However, it is sure that the new Cruze will be all the more powerful and handsome than the existing car. The current version of Cruze is powered by a 150 bhp engine. The new engine in the Cruze is expected give it an acceleration of 8.5 seconds to reach to the speed of 100 kmph from cipher.

The new Cruze is expected to give a really tough time to Volkswagen Passat from the Germans and to the Japanese Honda Civic besides the Czech car Skoda Laura and others. All these cars are like segment leader and are in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. These cars belong to the mid premium sedan segment which is gradually getting hotter day by day. Besides the entry of the Cruze could be timed this Diwali which is the period when there is bumper sales of cars in India.
