New Ford Fiesta AT launching on 28th Feb

Ford India has certainly planned a hectic schedule for 2012. Where it had rocked the industry with the unveiling of the Ford Ecosport at the onset of the year and recently the opening of 45 new outlets in India in a single day. Next, if you happen to enter the new Ford Fiesta and fumble for the clutch pedal, don’t be shocked but exhilarate with joy as the new Ford Fiesta with Automatic Transmission will be launched on 28th February, 2012.. Presently, the Ford sedan is available in 5 speed manual gearbox only models. A new and advanced Powershift Automatic gearbox is expected to make way into the new Ford Fiesta 2012 model.

As expected the new Fiesta sedan’s 1.5L TiVCT petrol engine powered models Fiesta Titanium and Fiesta Titanium+ will receive the automatic gearbox. The automatic gearbox will be a six speed one and is expected to further boost the performance of the car in the city in the form of effortless driving. The new dual clutch facility will be there in the new Fiesta. The new automatic Fiesta is also proposed to return better mileage than the siblings with the five speed manual gearbox.

The new automatic gearbox in Fiesta will also make it lighter than other models and this it will help increase the fuel efficiency of the car. Apart from six gears, the new Fiesta automatic version will also feature hill hold control that will make it easier to climb up hill and descend down the road without slipping. A creep function will help the car bear the pressure of a sleepy traffic easily keeping intact the fuel economy.


The Fiesta automatic that is being brought to India is available across globe already and it is the first time that Ford is bringing it to India. It is better late than never as most of its competitors including Volkswagen Vento, Honda City and Hyundai Verna have already launched the automatic versions.

That's really amazing, Now Fiesta will be accepted as good alternate of Honda City.
