New Ford Fiesta Automatic Transmission Sedan launched at Rs 8.99 lakh

Ford India has launched the much awaited Ford Fiesta Automatic version. The Ford Fiesta AT price in India starts at Rs 8.99 lakh while the top end variant goes for Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi); the six speed transmission will be maintenance free for ten years. With the automatic Ford Fiesta in, the sedan will be able to compete with its rivals viz. Hyundai Verna, Honda City and others in the segment. Besides this, Ford Fiesta is expected to deliver a mileage of 16.97 kmpl which is best in its class. Apart from this the Ford Fiesta AT price will certainly attract more buyers towards the American car maker made sedan. On the occasion of Fiesta AT launch, Ford also launched Paprika Red, a new color of this sedan.

With the Ford Fiesta AT launch, it seems that the sedan is now all prepared to face the challenge thrown by its competitors. On the other hand, Honda is also preparing itself for a show with the reports coming in that a diesel Honda City and Honda Civic are coming. However, the Fiesta sedan has made its presence in the car market quite reasonably with the first in class voice command system and other features. Now that it also has an automatic version available, it is now a complete offering in its segment.

The Fiesta AT models are powered by the same 1.5 L TiVCT engine that outputs 110 bhp of power and a peak torque of 140 Nm. The six speed automatic gearbox that is now part of the sedan is characterized by PowerShift and is a dual clutch type which is till now seen in Skoda Laura type sedans and is a new technology in India. The best part of the automatic transmission is that since it is dry type, it needs little maintenance and can go upto 2.4 lakh kms without worry. Besides, contrary to other automatic transmission there are little losses in it and thus it translates power to the wheels in toto and thus helps Fiesta AT to return high mileage.
