New Ford Fiesta enters production
The US based car maker, Ford India has begun the production of its new sedan Ford Fiesta.
The new and promising luxurious sedan is being manufactured at the Maraimalai Nagar plant near Chennai.
This plant is currently the sixth plant in the world where Ford Fiesta in manufactured.
The remaining 5 plants are Rayong in Thailand, Cuautitlán in Mexico, Nanjing in China, Cologne in Germany and Valencia in Spain.
The Ford Fiesta sedan will be seen running on the Indian roads by the end of this year, and the Chennai plant will also be manufacturing 7 more models of Ford, which will be launched in India by 2015.

Besides an attractive car catalogue, the Chennai plant is equipped with advanced technologies and fully automated systems and processes.
The plant will also have a body shop, a fully integrated stamping line, trim and final process area which will provide the workers with a better working place.
The Ford India company has also set aside a sum of $72 million to be spent on this plant additionally.
The all new Ford Fiesta Sedan will be available in both petrol and diesel variants stocked with a 1.5L Ti-VCT engine for the petrol version and a Duratorg TDCi engine for the diesel version.
Some of the popular hatchback models in the Indian auto market are Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo. Apart from these popular models, cars going to hit the Indian roads this year are Toyota Etios Liva and New Maruti Cervo.
