New Mahindra Scorpio Ex launched in India
Mahindra & Mahindra, the largest utility vehicle maker in the Indian market has launched new starting range variant of its popular sports utility vehicle (SUV) Scorpio. The new cheaper version of the SUV is named as Scorpio Ex and carries a price tag of Rs. 7.59 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
Powered by a 2.5L m2DiCR engine the new Mahindra Scorpio Ex is capable of delivering a peak power of 75bhp along with a maximum torque of 220NM. The Scorpio Ex will be delivering a high fuel economy of 14 km per liter (as per ARAI).
The new base Scorpio model is blessed with advanced fuel saving Micro Hybrid technology that enables the drives to switch to standby mode when engine is running without any use. The technology not only enhances the fuel economy of the vehicle but also reduces its emission level considerably. It is compatible with new BS-IV emission norms and leaves lesser carbon footprints in the environment.
Commenting on the launch of the base version of Scorpio, Mr. Vivek Nayer, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said that company’s endeavor has always been to offer the best-in-class products. He added that with the easy drivability, refined performance, great mileage of new Scorpio Ex, the SUV will surely be an instant hit among young customers who are looking for an affordable entry point into the Scorpio franchise.
