New Mercedes Benz S Class all equipped to take on Jaguar XJ and BMW 7 series
Whatever best car companies do to keep the test mules away from the sight of sneaking eyes, it is destiny that wants them to be revealed before their launch. A fresh example of this cat and mouse game was with upcoming new generation Mercedes Benz S Class. In production at the Chakan plant and available in the country, the full-size 4-door luxury car is currently has a starting price of Rs 89 lakh. A new 2012 S Class version is in the making and the same has been spotted testing recently in Germany. An India launch of the S class is expected next year while the global launch will happen in the coming few months.

The new S Class 2012 is codenamed as W222 and will features a lot of additions to its present features. Some of the new features in the new Mercedes car will be a lot of driving aids part from an all new suspension system that will bear even the deepest of the pits easily without a shatter inside. The materials inside and the overall interior design is also expected to undergo a drastic change. A new infotainment system with advanced navigation system is in offing as well. Reports further suggest that the new S Class is expected to be redesigned from scratch and not even a control will be inherited from the present generation car.

The proposed makeover is expected to compete well with Audi A8, Jaguar XJ and BMW 7 series cars. As per the spyshots of the camouflaged version that reveals more than it hides, the new S Class has almost the same proportions. The overall design has changed a bit and is more on the line of Mercedes Benz A and Mercedes Benz B class. The power inside the bonnet though hidden but it is expected that the German car maker is developing a new hybrid and electric powertrain for the new S Class.
