New Mercedes Benz S Class to be showcased during Auto Expo 2014
With festive season just over all major car makers have started planning for up-coming Auto Expo 2014 in India. It is reported that German car maker Mercedes Benz will showcase the facelift version of Mercedes Benz S Class during Indian Auto Expo. This was disclosed by Mr. Eberhard Kern CEO and MD, Mercedes Benz India during the launch of Celebration Edition of C Class.
According to reports company is investing Rs. 850 crore to expand production capacity of its plant located at Chakan. The other two cars that will be launched by company in coming future are A Class in premium hatchback segment and B Class in MPV segment. According to Mr. Kern, during this festive season company witnessed growth of 32% which was according to its expectations. He further added that major cars which played an important role in enhancing the sales of company were C Class and E Class sedan.
Commenting on the launch of recently unveiled GLA sedan Mr. Kern said it will take atleast one more year for company to bring GLA sedan in Indian car market as it was mainly unveiled for European market where it will be launched next year. And once it is launched in European car market company will start allocation of its parts for Indian car market, however before that company will try to make it according to conditions of Indian roads. As an expansion plan of company it is also speculates to increase the number of OEM Suppliers and to decide strategy for this project team of experts is working at Pune. Discussing the success of CLA sedan Mr. Kern said that company is overwhelmed from the response it has received by its launch and soon company will deliver car to customers who have ordered for it.
