Renault Fluence launched in India, priced at 12.99 lakh
After registering commendable success and recognition in the global market, French car manufacturer, Renault has finally brought the luxury saloon, Renault Fluence to the Indian auto market.
The car is launched officially after commencing a successful test drive of one lakh kilometers on the Indian roads. The launch of the car was declared by the Renault India Country Managing Director Marc Nassif. The pricing of the car was a big suspense for all Indian car aficionados and the expectations are well achieved by tagging it at the range of Rs. 12.99 lakh (petrol variant) to 14.40 lakh (diesel variant). Renault holds a real strong image in the global market and the fact is evident from sale of 2.6 million cars worldwide in the year 2010. With such prominent success, company holds 10.7 % market share in Europe, 37 % in Russia and 5.3 % in Latin America.

With this big launch in Indian auto market, the French car manufacturer is looking for even better presence in the global market. Launch of Renault Fluence is a smart move from the company and will certainly improve its image after the bad experiences of alliance with Mahindra & Mahindra.
The saloon will enter the Indian shores as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit and the assembly of these units will be commenced at the Oragadam plant situated near Chennai, which is a venture with Nissan, the Japanese car maker.

The plant was established after the investment of Rs 4,500 crore by Nissan and Renault. The initial capacity of this plant was of two lakh units which can be increased to four lakh units at later stage.
The company is planning to sell 1,800 units of Renault Fluence by the end of running year and believes that the company’s production capacity will be a constraint to achieve bigger targets.
