Renault India to bring 3 more diesel models next year

Renault India, an Indian subsidiary of the France based leading car maker Renault, has said that it will increase its focus on rolling-out at least 3 new diesel run cars in the Indian car market. It is to be mentioned here that Renault has planned-up to have 5 car models in its Indian portfolio by the end of year 2012. Now as it has already launched premium sedan Renault Fluence and luxury sports utility vehicle Renault Koleos, the three remaining models will be rolled-out in next one year.

The demand for diesel run cars has been on a rise in the Indian auto market due to a sharp rise in the price of petrol in last one year. With more and more buyers shifting towards the diesel run car variants, Renault doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned in making sure maximum capitalization of this high demand momentum. While the share of diesel run passenger cars in the total sales of passenger vehicles was 27 percent last year, the share of diesel run cars is expected to surge-up to 33 percent, this fiscal.

According to Vice President for sales and marketing at Renault India, Mr. Len Curran, every model that will be rolled-out in the Indian market next year, will have a diesel variant. He added that the firm’s focus is on diesel run cars in India.

The first Renault car launch of year 2011 will be compact hatchback Pulse that will be launched at the Delhi International Auto Expo in the month of January 2012. Renault Pulse will be the third portfolio car of Renault in the Indian market and the launch will be in line with the company’s top to down approach, adopted in the Indian auto market.

The Renault Pulse hatchback will be followed by Sports Utility Vehicle Renault Duster in the second half of next year. The last car launch of Renault in next year will be a sedan which will be launched by the end o the year.
