Renault Pulse launched in Jaipur, priced at Rs 5.88 lakh
French automaker Renault has launched its small car Renault Pulse in Jaipur today at a gala event. Notably, the Nissan Micra based Pulse has already been launched in the country on January 6 at the Auto Expo 2012. Renault Pulse is the third car out of the five planned for India till autumn 2012. The Renault Pulse price in Jaipur is Rs 5.88 lakh for the base variant while its top end variant is priced at Rs 6.37 lakhs. Feature wise it will compete with Hyundai i20, Nissan Micra, Chevrolet Beat Diesel apart from Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Swift.

Renault Pulse has been greatly admired for its small size and premium features. It shares the same V-platform with its Nissan sibling Nissan Micra. It has the same five speed gearbox as that in Micra and also has the same suspension system. However, contrary to Micra which is available in diesel and petrol versions, Renault Pulse is available in diesel option only. The Pulse sports a K9K engine which is Renault sourced and has a maximum power of 63bhp and a peak torque of 16.3 kgm. The ARAI certified Renault Pulse mileage is 23.08 kmpl.

The exteriors of Renault Pulse are quite different from Micra however, it has strong similarity in dimensions as well. Despite of the small car appearance, the Pulse is able to retain a larger cabin and a decent headroom for the rear passengers as well. The front facia of the car has been entirely redone by Renault and is sharper and raised a little bit. Front also houses a hexagonal grille and the Renault logo rests at the centre. A sports version that has a much more sportier attire is also in the making and will also be launched soon. The top version Renault Pulse RxZ is fully loaded and has alloy wheels, automatic climate controlled air conditioning, front fog lamps, airbag besides an array of other premium car features. The Pulse comes with a four year 80,000 km warranty and Renault though has a limited network in the country but it provides round the clock roadside assistance.
