Renault Scala price could be under Rs 4.5 lakh

It seems that car makers come and learn a lot from India and learn that small price - big features sell well here. Renault launched Renault Fluence in the premium sedan segment. Later it launched Renault Koleos in the premium SUV segment. Result: slow sales and less brand visibility due to high price. Then it launched the rebadged Nissan Micra car – Renault Pulse. It clicked well. Recently, it has launched the Renault Duster at incredibly low price. And, it is super hit. Now, the fifth car scheduled is the Renault Scala. Another important update is that Renault will be launching a small car that will be priced under Rs 4.5 lakh. Currently the Pulse hatchback is the lowest priced Renault car in India and a car under this price will be more than welcome, said sources.

With an aim to sell 30k cars this fiscal, the car maker hopes that the new car under Rs 4.5 lakh price will be able to pull crowd. However, the contribution to the figures this year will be majorly by the Duster SUV that has been more than a success in India despite of a bad weather of slowdown in the market. The Duster has reportedly got 6000 + bookings in less than seven days of its launch on July 12. Now that Renault is planning a small car priced under Rs 4.5 lakh expect it to outnumber Duster sales as well. However, the car maker has not defined the timeline as well as model, make of the car it will launch.

Meanwhile, experts believe the being with four offerings right now and only 55 distributors across India won’ qualify the car maker to be a car maker that can really have enthusiastic numbers. However, as a brand, the car maker has settled itself instantly in the market following the launch of one after the other cars. Duster is the recent most important addition. The Scala will be the next big launch by the car maker and as per the recent reports; this Renault car will be launched this September. The Scala will be taking on the sedan segment players.
