Renault Scala sedan launch soon after Duster SUV is in
The French car maker Renault has really given a fresh beginning to its tenure in India soon after it ceased its ties with SUV maker Mahindra. One after the other offerings including Renault Fluence sedan, Renault Koleos SUV and small car Renault Pulse and now there is one more SUV coming soon – Renault Duster. In order to further extent its presence in the sedan segment, Renault will launch the rebadged Nissan Sunny – Renault Scala soon after Duster launch.

Notably, Renault and Japanese car maker share a common production unit and it is far easier for the both to share some either the platform or the whole car in toto with minor tweaks. The recent example of the rebadged saga by Renault is the Renault Pulse hatchback which is an avatar of Nissan Micra bubble shaped car. It shares the same engine, almost the same shape and the interiors as well. However, the overall styling closely resemble to that of a French car. Next addition to the rebadged line up will be Renault Scala also called as Renault ‘Scela’ in some media reports. This car will be an avatar of Nissan Sunny sedan that has recently joined the Micra hatch in pushing the sales figures to newer heights.

Renault Scala as a fully Renault car is already on sale in Mexico, Egypt and Colombia. This car is the first generation car of the Renault Samsung SM3. The latest second generation car is called as Renault Fluence that is available in India. The Renault Scala which will be launched in India will be different from the Scala sold in other countries and will be more like the Sunny sedan taking its features, engine line and design. However, a close French styling changes are imminent that will make it look as a new car quite different from Nissan Sunny.

It will be very exciting if Scala will be more like Sunny. As Sunny is having great features. Me too eagerly waiting.
