Renault to launch a bunch of new cars in India by 2014
The French automobile company Renault has revealed strategies for its future in India. It is getting ready to enter the second phase of market strategy for India. The first phase just got over this month with the establishment of its brand with premium segment sedan called Renault Fluence and premium segment SUV named Renault Koleos.
Renault India will launch a small car in the first half of next year which will be based on the V-Platform that is also used in Nissan Micra and Nissan Sunny. This car will be put in competition with Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20. Then, in mid 2012 Renault will launch an entry level SUV called Duster, which will compete with the likes of Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari.
The second half of next year will witness the fifth car from Renault. It will a sedan that will compete with Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Swift Dzire and Maruti SX4. Renault has plans of launching 12 new cars by the year 2014. It has set target of selling one lac units by the year 2013. It is working on localising the raw material by up to 60%, starting with the launch of its small car next year.
Renault adopted top to down entry plan for India, as it wanted to change the negative publicity reviewed earlier from Mahindra-Renault Logan. Renault is setting up a second co-production facility with Nissan at Chennai. This will help the company double up its production, which at present sits at two lac units per annum.

It is a good omen because the company is giving a car some time.this company cars are excellent and good looking.
I have bought a Renault fluence Diesel 2 months ago and have covered almost 2000 kms on it and i am in awe of this sedan...Easily the best car in this segment its the most spacious vehicle with the longest wheelbase in the under 20 lac category....The ride quality is awesome and i am getting a real time mileage of 17 kmpl in city traffic...its a pleasure to own this car and is a real head turner..well done Renault!
