Rs 75,000 discount on Ford Fiesta petrol
When Ford India launched its refreshed version of Fiesta back in July with an unexpected price tag, it was quite understandable that the American auto giant is not looking to sell volumes this time; instead it was focusing on profit margin part. Hence, this overpricing didn’t perform any good for the company in terms of sales. Before its launch, new Ford Fiesta was observed as a threat in the C segment especially to Honda City; the sedan has served the segment as a royal leader since long.
With an intention to lure its buyers on the festive occasion, the company offered a concession of INR 50,000 on new Fiesta petrol in October month this year, but this scheme saw another setback. Now, once more the US based firm is in the battlefield with a discount up to INR 75,000. It’s not a complete cash discount as it includes exchange bonus, complimentary accessories further more with free insurance. The all new Fiesta petrol sedan now stands cheap in terms of price against Honda City.

Providing discount to car buyers is not the only solution to attract, as it may assure a company to turn volume but not a long-lasting consumer relationship and discount increases the chances of hitting the resale value of car.

The company needs to immediately re-work on the pricing of sedan as it will launch Automatic or AT variant of new Ford Fiesta in the start of next year; which will be around INR 70-75 Thousand costlier than the existing car.
The new Fiesta has got nothing incorrect; excluding price, the 1.5L TI VCT engine yields out maximum power of 109 PS along with 140 Nm of maximum torque, coupled with a five speed manual transmission and class leading mileage of 17 kmpl certified by ARAI. The on-road performance, overall exterior appearance and innovative user-friendly technology inside the cabin are extraordinary, making it stand out in its segment.
